Crispy Nutella & Banana Wrap
A simple yet delicious trailside dessert to make while backpacking or camping. Only uses a handful of ingredients!
If you’re like me, you have a bit (or a lot) of a sweet tooth. And especially after a long day on the trails, nothing quite beats a delicious sweet treat after dinner. This backpacking dessert requires a little bit of cooking but only uses a handful of ingredients to keep it simple yet absolutely delicious!
Ingredients
Small/Medium Tortilla Wraps - I love planning meals/desserts with wraps while backpacking because they can be made either sweet (like this recipe) or savoury (into trailside wraps, breakfast tacos, etc.) and are pretty sturdy and non-squishable (is that a word?). Keep in mind, they are not the lightest to pack so I’d recommend planning to use them up within the first couple days of your trip to lighten the backpack load fairly soon.
Nutella - need I elaborate more? This chocolatey, nutty spread is one of foundational flavours of this dessert. If you’re not a fan, you can easily sub for peanut butter, other nut butters, cream cheese, or chocolate chips.
Bananas - the other key flavour to this dessert. Unlike wraps, these DO NOT pack well and can easily get squished in your backpack. To avoid mashed bananas in the bottom of your backpack, I recommend packing in a harder container, wrapping in some extra clothes/towel, or putting at the very top of your pack with nothing resting on top.
Not a fan of bananas? Berries, dried fruit, or mini marshmallows can all work too!
Cinnamon-Sugar Mixture - this is optional but recommended. After frying, quickly toss the crispy wrap in a little of the mixture to add a little extra sweetness and fun (think similar to mini donuts you get at the fair). You can definitely skip this step and still have a delicious dessert!

Crispy Nutella & Banana Wraps

Ingredients
- 2 small/medium tortilla wraps
- 2-4 Tbsp Nutella
- 1 banana, sliced
- 1 tsp cinnamon-sugar mixture
Instructions
- Spread Nutella on one side of the wrap and add sliced bananas.
- Fold together and fry in a pan on medium heat until bananas are soft and Nutella is gooey. You may need to add a small amount of oil if your pan tends to stick.
- Remove from the heat and sprinkle the crispy wrap with a little cinnamon-sugar (optional). Enjoy!
